It took me probably a half hour in trying different switch combinations on each monitor to get the sound I needed and expected, and for their price and size they are very good, indeed.

The only downside for some might indeed be the bass response, but what can one realistically expect from a 5 woofer? I think that nothing could do the job better. THey have a little hiss and buzz, but it is nomal for active speakers, passives have no practically.

I am using these in a aalesis way– as part of a synth rig, playing with a small band. I only use then for mixing vocals, they ard okay for mixing beats but bass is not good so its kinda hard. I was a little skeptical how much bass they would have but they are great. The M1Active ultimately represents an affordable solution for project and commercial recording or video production facilities.

They have worked well to allow me to practice songs, work on orchestrations, etc. Can’t find a better value at this price range or even higher without going way up in budget – definitely worth it and then some.

Forget about sub, the bass is enough for home use. I can jam in my room and not drive everyone else in the house nuts because they are only loud for me!
